What is Life Coaching


Coaching is about empowering people to come up with their own answers. Whether your goal is to attain your dreams faster or enhance/ improve some areas of your life, it could get pretty hard to do it all by yourself. That’s where a life Coach comes in. Like a Therapist, a life Coach is someone who can help you identify strengths and weaknesses and overcome obstacles holding you back.


Coaching is results-oriented, forward-looking and focuses on making changes in the present. The client develops a plan of action to move forward, and the Coach holds the client accountable to follow through with that plan of action. During the process, common blocks and obstacles are addressed using techniques that are proven and legally correct.


Coaching is about helping people to identify the obstacles that keep getting in their way, assisting them with finding motivation, and pinpointing any resistance to change.


Do you need to have a Coach to reach your goals? Not necessarily! But most people describe Coaching as achieving goals faster and easier than if they were working on your own.


What is Relationship Coaching


Relationship coaching is similar to life coaching in the process, except Relationship Coach has an additional certification and more tools and skills to work in relationship area, that includes relationship with your ownself (self-discovery), with others like partner, children and everyone else in life.


Unlike Life Coach, a Relationship Coach tends to spend more time uncovering the past to discover the beliefs and blocks that obstruct the present and future. And help them to overcome those self-limiting beliefs to make progress in their personal life, which leads to success in other areas of life too!

What Coaching is not


Coaching is not about giving advice. Though Coaches share their insights from time to time with the permission of their clients, it’s not what Coaching is about primarily.


But rather to facilitate the client's own process of connecting to their inner wisdom, empowering them to come up with their own answers from that connection. It is because all the answers to our questions are within us, a skilled Coach helps the client to tap to that inner wisdom with powerful questions. Clients tend to follow through much better when the solution comes from within.

How is Coaching different from Therapy


Coaching can be Therapeutic, however there are some major differences between coaching and therapy.


Counseling, or psychotherapy, is about healing deep emotional issues, usually arising from the past. Perhaps someone has been abused or experienced trauma in their past. Perhaps someone has mental illness to the extent that it affects their functioning in day-to-day life. Some of these mental illnesses include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline and personality disorder, when any of these are pesent, then therapy is recommended over Coaching.


Many clients go for coaching after or alongside therapy as it builds upon the progress, they have made with the therapy process.

What to expect?

How often do we meet?

Though many clients choose to meet once a week, it’s not uncommon to see more than once a week or once every other week or month. It totally depends on what are your goals and your time frame.

How many sessions does it take?

I would ask the same question if I am in your place, but unfortunately, it is impossible to give a definite answer as each individual’s needs, goals and pace are different. But you should start to see some momentum after a few sessions.

Where does Coaching take place?

It is completely virtual. You will get a zoom link prior to the meeting.

What is expected of a Coachee(you)?

Motivation! And openness to discuss concerns, fears and setbacks.
